To comply with the requirements of Peru’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), Traperos de Emaus and the Reverse Logistics Group have entered into a partnership.

Daniel Ott, Managing Director Latin America at the Reverse Logistic Group, describes how the two organizations came together to form a long-standing, trust-based collaboration. This partnership combines expertise in take-back logistics and local waste management, resulting in reliable collection of electronic waste and a stable income for informal collectors.

About the speaker:

Daniel Ott holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich (Switzerland), as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Business Analytics, both from Quantic School of Business and Technology (US). He has more than 20 years of experience working with and in Latin America and is dedicated to the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in developing countries, with a special focus on Latin America. Since 2013, he has been the Managing Director for Latin America at Reverse Logistics Group (RLG), an integrator of reverse logistics systems, provider of environmental legal compliance services, and facilitator of circularity. Since 2018, he has served as the focal point for Latin America for the StEP (Solving the e-Waste Problem) Initiative, and since 2022, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of SERI (Sustainable Electronics Recycling International).
