In EPR systems, an effective PRO plays a key role. It collects producers’ fees through a fair pricing mechanism and uses the funds to ensure that producers meet their compliance targets. A PRO is typically accountable to the government for its activities and for achieving the objectives of the EPR scheme.

The GIZ project ‘Environmental Protection Worldwide,’ as part of the Export Initiative for Environmental Protection, is discussing this topic in the first part of their new webinar series ‘Innovations and Solutions.’

The ‘Innovations and Solutions’ webinar series is initiated by the GIZ project ‘Environmental Protection Worldwide’ as part of the Export Initiative for Environmental Protection launched by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment. The Export Initiative aims to promote knowledge transfer, support the development and strengthening of networks, and provide advice to suppliers of environmental technologies on possible applications and investments in target countries.

This monthly and ongoing webinar series presents “Innovations and Solutions” to decision-makers and practitioners from the public and private sectors in partner countries. The objective is to establish initial contacts, expand knowledge of viable technological solutions, generate interest in their local application and lay the foundation for future cooperation.
